On Wednesday, September 18 (1:00 p.m. EDT), Acting Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations Dean Pittman will participate in a live, online conversation with participants worldwide in a “Hangout at State.” This Google+ Hangout will take place in the context of the opening of the 68th UN General Assembly, and is entitled “The U.S. and the United Nations: The Case for Multilateralism”

The conversation will be moderated by veteran journalist Mark Leon Goldberg, and features the participation of Enough Project Co-Founder John Prendergast and recently-announced U.S. Youth Observer to the UN Tiffany Taylor.

Topics of discussion will include the relevance of the UN to current international crises, the crucial relationship between the U.S. and the UN, and the expanding role for youth voices in foreign affairs.
