On January 17, Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting with volunteers participating in preparations for the 2014 XXII Winter Olympic Games and XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi, attended by representatives from various Russian regions and foreign countries.

The Volunteer Programme is one of the important innovative projects of the Sochi 2014 organising committee: more than 35 percent of the service personnel at the Olympics will be volunteers.

About 25,000 individuals were selected out of approximately 200,000 candidates for the volunteer positions. The Sochi 2014 volunteer team includes representatives from every Russian region and 60 nations around the world.
