Pippa Middleton Topless in Ibiza in 2006
Pippa Middleton Topless in Ibiza in 2006

We've all now read of the "sadness" and later how "angry" the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are that a French magazine, Closer, would take and then (shock, horror) publish photos of Kate Middleton sans top. First it was Pippa's 2006 topless (pre-Royal) Ibiza holiday, then Prince Harry's nude romp in Las Vegas and now Kate's got her tits out.

The BBC published an article in which the couple's fury was made known in a short piece that made the Royal's official position clear, but unusually, comments were invited. Often articles about the Royal Family are not opened up to comment, least we realise just how much the general public detest these people.

In any event, I posted the following comment:

"It's exactly like with Diana... She also flaunted herself (although, sadly, not as much as it would appear Kate has!) and then complained when the media took her picture. Is it any wonder why William selected her? She's just like his Mum. I for one will look forward to the photos. She exposed herself and obviously wanted someone to take her photo. It would be a shame not to have a look."

But my comment was removed and I received the following message by email:

Thank you for contributing to the BBC web site. Unfortunately we've had to remove the content below because it contravened one of our House Rules. Your comment was considered to have broken the following House Rule: "We reserve the right to fail comments which... Contain defamatory statements.”

Defamation? Pleeeease!

If Kate didn't want anyone to take her photo without a top then she would not have been visible to the lens. She may have forgotten who she is, but it's unlikely that her Prince has and he would have known that they are always being photographed.

By the way, there would be more than a couple security (minders), a maid or two and perhaps even a bulter; all of whom it was perfectly allright to have witness Kate without a top.

If either you or I left our curtains open at our own home and someone else was able to see us from outside without clothes we'd likely be charged with an offense.

Yet, the Royals cry invasion of their privacy and the public is lead to believe that they are victims because we get to see her breasts.

The fact is that we are the victims of their continued antics and the BBC as usual has bottled it by failing to allow its readers to express an opinion without being censored.
