Absolutely everyone is welcome to express their opinion via WireNews+Co. Ideally, these opinion (or Op-Ed) articles should be original pieces of writing, not previously published elsewhere, although you may re-publish your original work if it's something you feel very strongly about—it's your call.
Contributions to WireNews+Co should be c.300-500 words—though this is advisory, not mandatory. If your post is too long, readership drops off quite sharply so there is a real advantage to brevity.
If you refer to organisations, provide quotes, or mention other online articles or advance evidence to back up your argument, please do include relevant links within your article.
Contributions made to WireNews+Co are accepted subject to our final approval and whilst our acceptance policy is quite liberal we from time to time reject articles that we believe are merely making an unwarranted attack on someone else—be nice and your opinion will be published without hesitation.
Sometimes contributors to WireNews+Co – for reasons of their career, or humour, or other sensitivities – write using a name other than their own or nom de plume. You may create any number of unique contact(s) for the articles you publish through your account. Register as a journalist in your own name and create any number of alias contacts as needed. Your personal details will only be made public if you do not create a contact using our unique contact tool.
We are happy to publish articles written by journalists who do not carry a WireNews+Co Press Card. It's not a requirement, but you might wish to consider getting one!
To get started, simply register as a journalist.
Although we general have a quick look at the content being published we do not check spelling or your grammar so please make sure you've carefully checked your text, especially its spelling and punctuation, before submitting it. Note: You can always edit your articles but each time you do they have to be approved again by our editors and so it's better to make it right the first time.
The final thing to remember is that WireNews+Co is completely neutral—we espouse no policy agenda, and do not belong to any particular political party. All views are welcome.
Our editors can be reached by email do stay in touch!
