Simpler Consulting Prepares Lean Leaders

Lean Consortium event in Barcelona provides practical advice on how to implement and sustain lean initiatves

The Lean Consortium event was attended by senior executives from some of the world’s leading organisations, with operations in the manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, retail, logistics and energy industries. Representatives followed an intensive two-day programme that demonstrated how the Lean Transformation Continuum can sustain and increase the speed of the lean transformation being undertaken at their organisation.

Simpler organised the event after identifying an opportunity to provide further ongoing support to senior executives who are in the process of overseeing the implementation of lean management techniques within their organisation. A key theme of the Lean Consortium was the need for strong leadership to inspire support for the Lean approach amongst employees and to encourage a culture of continuous improvement.

Participants undertook a customised and systematic programme aimed at developing their ability to support Lean initiatives within their organisation. This provided an opportunity for attendees to receive leadership coaching and to share advice on best practice with peers from within the industry in which they operate. The Lean Consortium also included a site visit to a manufacturing facility that has achieved world class results using lean management techniques, providing an opportunity for attendees to witness first-hand how lean methods have been practically implemented.
