Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on the Dutch side’s initiative.

The two leaders exchanged views on possible measures to help launch an objective international investigation into the Malaysian Airlines plane crash in Ukraine as quickly as possible, in accordance with UN Security Council resolution 2166, adopted on July 21. In this regard, both sides stressed the importance of taking into account the opinions of all parties concerned. Mr Putin and Mr Rutte agreed to maintain effective coordination through their foreign ministries and within the UN.
