Managing Director of DUAL Australia and Chief Operating Officer of DUAL’s Asia–Pacific operations Peter Bailey has an integral role in the company’s growth and strategic direction.
“I joined DUAL in 2010 with two mandates: to achieve geographic expansion in the Asia–Pacific region and to assist with product diversification,” states Peter. “In the two years since I’ve been here, we’ve opened a branch in New Zealand, and are in the process of establishing a Singapore branch to complement our Asian operations in Hong Kong.
“When I look at the overall change in the company over the past two years, I think one of our proudest achievements is that we’ve maintained the culture of the organisation. We have a ‘small company soul’. We have strong growth ambitions, but we don’t want to compromise our core values in our quest to become a larger organisation with greater scale. We went through a transformation process not long after I joined, which actually restructured the business to develop a greater foundation to support our growth.”
Once the cultural and structural foundations were laid, Peter says, he focused on finding new product opportunities within the market. “In the 12 months following that transformation process, we had a very successful period when we increased our revenue by over 40 per cent and increased our profit margin by 90 per cent. That would be one of the great highlights of my early career at DUAL.
